Indoor Air Quality
High-performance equipment for improving air quality in residential and commercial projects — humidification, dehumidification and disinfection, plus the pre-insulated duct materials each installation requires.

Specifications →Design decisions behind this solution
- 01
Decide whether the moisture load is handled by a ducted whole-house dehumidifier or a standalone unit. The ducted line-up — PA-HD70R32, PA-WH70R32, PA-HD100R32, PA-WH95R32 — is 120V on R-32 with an LED display, selected on moisture load at the project condition.
- 02
Choose the installation configuration before the equipment: return-to-return where no supply duct exists, return-to-supply, dedicated return to main supply or A/C return, or inlet and outlet ducted to dedicated grilles. The unit can be ordered either way; the ducts cannot.
- 03
Decide whether humidity is controlled at the thermostat or at the equipment. The AFT533D drives a humidifier or dehumidifier on one or two wires, up to two accessories, alongside ventilation modes — but the wiring must match the configuration.
- 04
Where ducting is in scope, choose the panel against the run. The Univer PIR panel is 20, 25 or 30 mm, B1 rated, thermal conductivity 0.021 W/m·K, working range −50°C to 80°C, fabricated on site by cutting and adhesive connection.
- 05
Confirm the condensate path before the equipment is placed. A dehumidifier produces water continuously, and where a cooling coil works in the same building both drains have to reach a discharge that works in winter.
How it connects to the rest of the system
- With smart controls, humidity control usually lives in the same thermostat as heating, cooling and ventilation: the AFT533D drives a humidifier or dehumidifier on one or two wires, up to two accessories.
- With air conditioning, the dehumidifier shares the ducts, and the coil already dehumidifies as it cools. Where humidity must be held below what the coil delivers, the dehumidifier is separate equipment on the same ducts.
- With ventilation, the outdoor air brought in carries its own moisture load, which is why dehumidifier sizing and ventilation rate are reviewed together; the thermostat also lowers the humidity target as outdoor temperature falls.
- With commercial equipment, the ducting choices carry across: pre-insulated panel, diffusers and grilles are specified the same way whether the equipment is residential or a rooftop package.
Common questions
How do we size a whole-house dehumidifier?
From the moisture load and the duct arrangement rather than floor area. The four ducted models are 120V on R-32 with an LED display; capacity per 24 hours, airflow and power input come from the model data sheet at the condition designed to.
Which installation configuration is normally used?
Return-to-return is used where no supply duct is available. The other three — return-to-supply, dedicated return to main supply or A/C return, and inlet and outlet ducted to dedicated grilles — are selected by the layout.
Can the thermostat control the dehumidifier as well as the ventilation?
Yes. The AFT533D supports one- or two-wire humidifier and dehumidifier outputs for up to two accessories, alongside native HRV/ERV control in OFF, ON or AUTO modes. The CWA terminal can drive a 24V accessory.
