Match the outdoor unit and the indoor coil as one selection. The side-discharge unit covers 1.5–5 ton on 24V control and pairs with the cased coil range in three coil sizes; the match is confirmed per model on the submittal sheet.

Choose the indoor type against the ceiling void: round-flow cassettes with a four-position outlet, floor-ceiling units where there is no void, concealed ducted units for ceiling-void work, air handling units for light commercial.

In retrofit, line-set routing, plenum dimensions and panel capacity constrain the job more than unit capacity, and decide between a condenser swap and a full indoor change.

Choose top-discharge or side-discharge by position. Top-discharge models in 2–5 ton offer automatic or manual defrost and suit restricted side clearance; under a deck, confirm defrost drainage and snow clearance.

Set one refrigerant across the pair: the cased coil covers R-410A, R-32 and R-454B, the outdoor units R-410A or R-32. The two sides are not mixed.
How it connects to the rest of the system
- The AFT533D is the shared 24V control point: 2-stage cooling, dual-fuel changeover, humidifier or dehumidifier output on one or two wires, up to six remote zone sensors. A change of outdoor unit is checked against it.
- The cased coil and plenum are shared with the heating side, so the furnace selection must agree with the coil casing, and blower setting and duct sizing follow the coil.
- The cooling coil is part of the ventilation and IAQ strategy. It dehumidifies as it cools, but a tight building with designed ventilation may still need a whole-house dehumidifier.

Common questions
Can we get a coil match for a specific outdoor unit before the order?
The cased coil range matches our own outdoor units in three coil sizes, and match data is issued per model on request. Third-party certification evidence is not available for every combination, so raise that requirement at quotation.
Which refrigerant should we specify for a residential split?
The outdoor units come with R-410A or R-32, the cased coil with R-410A, R-32 or R-454B. Pick one for the whole system and keep it across the pair; the tonnage-level combination is confirmed on the submittal sheet.
The existing coil is in good condition. Can we replace only the outdoor unit?
Sometimes, and the refrigerant usually decides it. If the new outdoor unit runs a different refrigerant, the coil is replaced with it; otherwise inspect the coil, line set and metering device first.
Do you supply the line set and the interconnecting parts?
