Overview
The titanium heat exchanger is a water-side heat exchanger component for heat pump and air conditioning assemblies. Its stated characteristics are a streamlined special flow channel design, compact structure and high pressure resistance, with corrosion resistance and stable operation. Titanium is specified where the water side has to tolerate water chemistry that would attack a copper circuit over time.
It is supplied to OEM and ODM customers and heat pump assemblers as a component, not a field-installed accessory. The buying decision is a specification decision: the engineer defines the water-side duty, the connection arrangement and the envelope, and the part is produced to suit the assembly. It is offered alongside the tube and fin heat exchangers.
Where it is used
- Water-side heat exchangers in air-to-water and water-source heat pump assemblies
- Products where water circuit chemistry requires a corrosion-resistant material
- Compact assemblies with limited space for the refrigerant-to-water exchanger
- OEM and ODM programmes specifying a component into a private-label heat pump
Selection & installation notes
- 01
Specify from the duty, not a stock size: water-side load, entering and leaving water temperatures and flow rate define the channel geometry. Send those with the enquiry and the part is produced to suit them.
- 02
Confirm the envelope early. Compact structure and high pressure resistance are properties of the design; actual dimensions and pressure rating are set per project.
- 03
Fix connection type and orientation with the assembly drawing. A component specified late usually forces pipework changes around it, so raise it while the layout is open.
- 04
Confirm water chemistry as part of the specification. Titanium is chosen for its corrosion behaviour, so material selection should be reviewed against the actual water rather than assumed.
Common questions
Is this sold as a replacement part or as an OEM component?
As a component for OEM and ODM customers and heat pump assemblers. It is built into an assembly rather than sold as a field replacement part, so it is specified by the engineer against the project duty and envelope.
What information does the factory need to quote one?
The water-side duty, entering and leaving water temperatures, design flow rate, allowable pressure drop, connection type and orientation, available envelope, and the intended refrigerant. Model-level data is confirmed on the submittal sheet.
Can it be produced in custom dimensions?
The component is made to the project specification for OEM and ODM customers. Dimensions, connections and flow channel arrangement are agreed against the assembly rather than selected from a fixed list, so the drawing is the starting point.
